Mayfield Canyon

A few weeks back we went camping with my dad. That short respite from the heat may have been just what I needed to get me through to the end of this pregnancy. Well, and a lot of popsicles now that I'm home.
I attempted to make peach cobbler in our dutch oven. Let's just say good thing there were S'mores.
We saw many of these.

Tessa stayed dry the whole time thanks to Grandpa Ken's trailer's magnificent bathroom. I don't think she would have done as well with the stinky outhouse (nor would have I).

The girls got to meet their Aunt Angeline, a long lost half-sister I hadn't seen in over 10 years (she lives in California). The girls immediately loved her--she let them perform for her, played fun games with them, read stories, made funny faces in her camera with them, set up a squirrel trap with Malia, roasted marshmallows despite her not eating them herself (the whole horse hoof thing and she being a vegetarian) I could go on and on. It was so good to get to know her better and spend time with Grandpa Ken.

Grandpa Ken brought his toys. The girls loved going on rides. And yes, this pregnant lady went on some very breathtaking rides with her hubby over some very bumpy terrain, and no it did not send me into labor. Darn. Well, actually I don't think I would have wanted to give birth at Gunnison Hospital, no offense Gunnisononians.

Fun times, noodle salad. *$1.00 for anyone who can name that movie.
