St George 2010

These are pictures we thought we lost forever. Turns out our van temporarily ate our camera and spit it out in plain sight about a week after we got home. WEIRD. (Que twilight zone music). Needless to say, we were really sad about this loss and equally exuberant about the find.

We read of a place you could hike around in a tortoise preservation area...(we knew we were in the right place because there were little fences about a foot tall all around). Unfortunately, though, we didn't see any little guys. Malia was relieved though because she was terrified that they were going to attack her. Those vicious tortoises. We tried to explain the concept of it taking about an hour to get from their current position to where she was standing, but it didn't help. She gave her good riddance when we left. And it was cold and windy. Back to the pool we went!!!
