I was just looking at Malia's preschool's blog and I couldn't stop crying when I saw the above picture. (It doesn't show the boy's face, so I think it's okay to borrow it). This is Grandma Porter who helps at my daughter's preschool. I doubt she gets a paycheck. Just love. I know I cry easily right now, but come on, Alicen get it together. I just can't put into words the humanity I see in this picture. I hope when I'm in my late years I can still be making a difference in a child's life.
And here's my little smarty pants. She loves her preschool class and can't wait for Mondays and Wednesdays to roll around.
And the grandma photo reminded me of my weirdest crying-easily moment in this pregnancy... For awhile we kept listening to an oldies station that had a designated time where kids would call in and answer questions to win prizes. And afterwards, the announcer would always say, "What radio station brings the generations together?" And every time he said that I would tear up. I'm even tearing up now just writing it. Wooey.
Anyway, hope the morning sickness is easing up for you... or at least that it's just around the corner!
Wow, I'm always the last one to hear the news!!! You are pregnant!!! Congratulations!!!:)
And you know, this grandma is one of those people who I always admire. I wish I could be like her when I'm old. I'm glad you actually mentioned her, because we need to look at those people from time to time, just to remind ourselves to try to be better and less selfish.
Congratulation, Alicen! I'm often a sobby mess right now as well. All of those mommy hormones getting ready to nurture another one I guess. Anyway, I hope you make it through the yucky stage quickly. So excited for you!
Ah, Congratulations!! I read your blog and have been wondering for the last week or two why you would be more prone to crying right now.... I'm happy for you!! When's the due date?
I am married to my sweet boy named Darrin. He is silly. I tend to look in the rear view mirror and see a furrowed brow looking back at me, he relaxes that brow for me. I love him. I also love the children we have invited into our family. Malia and Tessa are our beautiful little girls and Jeremiah, our little "buddy". Malia is a September '04 baby, Tessa was born in January '07, and Jer was just born in August of '09.
