Well, I've done it, and two days earlier than I had set my goal for, which was Jan 1, 2008. Part of me feels like I have gone out and bought my first pair of Girbaud jeans to wear to junior high on Monday. I realize that "everyone is doing" the blog thing and just like I finally conceded to wearing my backpack on both shoulders by about 9th grade (my friend Jill was doing it way earlier), I am finally opening up my thoughts to the world wide web.
My blog shall bear the name of "Tender Mercies." A few years back in the October 2005 General Conference of my church, one of the newly ordained apostles, David A. Bednar, gave a talked entitled "The Tender Mercies of the Lord." It really spoke to my soul and I have, since then, tried to be more diligent about noticing and being grateful for the tender mercies the Lord sends my way. Here's a link to the talk if you're interested: http://www.lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-520-33,00.html
I hope through having this blog I might with more clarity recognize those tender mercies and write about them so as not to forget them. I don't believe anything in this life happens coincidentally and I am so grateful for all the experiences and even the trials I have experienced to make me the person I am today. Okay, I'll stop being mushy now and publish my very first post...wish me luck!

Wow, your very first comment - I feel honored. So glad you made it to the blogosphere (now that you're an official blogger you're going to have to learn a few vocabulary words). I will be a dedicated reader.
It was so good to see you in Salt Lake. Wish we could get together for breakfast every week. I was just remembering when we burned *things* on New Year's in 2001. Good times. What did we do in 2000? Were we at Carrie's cabin? I should probably try to figure that out since my kids might want to know where I was at the turn of the millennium. I hope that wasn't the year I got voted "most likely to eat the last piece of cake." OUCH!
Anyway, here's to a happy 2008! SHUR LUV AND PRESHATE CHA!
Hello Tender Mercies! Love that talk.
